The SASHA Team
Multiple roles, one mission, and room to grow.
The Real BOSS
Dr. Ruchi Singla is Chairperson of SASHA, and the actual boss whenever her daughters get an idea too ambitious for its own good. In 24+ years, she's stacked up 6+ degrees (including a PhD), three patents, and a Certified Patent Administrator title that only 12 candidates in all of Canada managed to clear. She runs her own IP firm, is a Rotary member, has worked with platforms like Chezuba on women-in-innovation projects, was the founder & director of an incubation center (ACIC RISE Association at CGC, Landran), served as Mentor of Change under Atal Innovation Mission, and was named a Top Performing Mentor in 2022.

None of that stops her from treating SASHA as a family project: she genuinely loves working with her daughters (disputed on hard days), plays Punjabi music at full volume, and will absolutely challenge you to a Just Dance battle. She claims she's undefeated. This is also disputed.
Shreya Singla is President and one of SASHA's three co-founders, which mostly means she's the one making sure everyone has something to do at all times (delegation is a skill, and she'll tell you so). She's also the one who built this website from scratch, and given her actual coding skills are borderline nonexistent, the fact that it works at all is a small miracle. She did her undergrad in Biology at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and her vision for SASHA centers on the first pillar: digital literacy. She wants SASHA to feel like a fun NGO instead of a generic one: Gen Z-coded events, reels, apps, and whatever current medium actually reaches people, instead of the usual pamphlet-and-seminar routine.

Â
Off the clock, she's at the gym, on a pickleball court, or watching tennis. Her all-time favorite movie is Scarface, her most-played song is "Nights" by Frank Ocean (no runner-up, it's not close), and she will absolutely make you watch F1 with her.
Delegation is a SKILL.
I am very skilled.
20 episodes in, no regrets
As Secretary, and one of SASHA's three co-founders, Sanvi Singla keeps everyone else in line, which is objectively unfair given she's the youngest of the three.
Â
She's currently an undergraduate at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and if you ask her why she co-founded SASHA, it comes down to one thing: she genuinely loves building things from the ground up. Her vision for SASHA goes beyond the events on a calendar: she wants it known for its systems, its partnerships, and eventually, for being the first place women from equity-deserving groups turn to when they hit a barrier, and the first place anyone thinks of when they want to give back.
Â
Off duty, she's usually crocheting, several episodes deep into a show with an unreasonable episode count, or on a tennis court staying (aggressively) active. Her music taste is a Mac Miller shrine; current favorite is "Thoughts from a Balcony."
